Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This lady is 74 years old, didn't start exercising until the late age of 53 years old, and at 74, she is breaking records. Not looking like a some muscle freak, but at 74, looking, IMO, like somebody 35 years old, with a 25 year old body. I have been preaching to my wife even before I saw this video.. BTW, this lady is in my town, and I just heard about her a couple days ago.. Yes, I am that slow. :)
She is the World Book of Records too..
This should be an INSPIRATION to all peeps pass 50 to do something..;)

Cool, thanks!
There's a 71 yr old in Chico who's ten mile is well under 27 mins - he's setting a good example!
The 85 yr old I met on my first Century ride (some 32 yrs ago) is shining icon in my mind! ...legs of steel! The guy rode away from all except the most serious racers (three) that turned out. That was before Masters were ever thought of.
As the years go by, more and more I try to emulate.

Only way to go Spid...
With all due respect and admiration, Miss Ernestine looks hot. I have always been attracted to older women. (Berner - age 72)

Wow!!! That lady is 11 years my senior and makes me look like a bag of doorknobs. Seriously.
But you know what, it was mentioned in the video that she didn't start until her mid-50's.
I'm gonna take that to mean there's hope for this old body yet. Man, the word "inspiration" doesn't begin to cover it.

Too many elders who could be a good example and inspiration to others don't get the press they deserve. She has gotten it. I hope she uses it to inspire folks to get out of their Lazy Boys and for the youngsters to pay attention.
Good on her!

Inspiration for us all. Most of us here are already on a healthy lifestyle. However, after seeing this, we ought to kick it up a few notches. As in, increase your workout times. If you been doing 3 days a week, kick it up to 4 days a week. Been doing half hour workouts, make them 45 minutes to an hour..
I have found out from experience that all those times when I was younger that I worked out, it is paying me back triple in the pass 65 years. Paying me back big time. What we do now, affects up in the later years. I know I am preaching to the choir, but I love to preach!! :D
BTW, we don't get any "replacement parts".:(.Wish we did...:)
Jack Lalane may be gone but we now have Miss Ernestine leading the charge.

Excepting the Knees; Hips; Eye Lenses (cataract and other surgery); Coronary Stents and Grafts; Insulin Pumps; Various Orthopedic Rods, Screws and Fasteners; Lungs; Hearts; Teeth; and I think a couple faces we've seen publicized. Probably more than don't immediately come to mind.
Oh yes, I failed to mention the prosthetic limbs that are now so good runners without them complain that an amputee with the replacements is faster and more nimble. I've seen a couple veterans with some of the new prosthesis and while I am sure not wanting to trade those things are a far cry from even a few years ago.
