I've been using my car to pick up my son from his mom's house, 35 miles away, and to visit my gf, for about the last year, and that's about it. This week I've had $600 in repairs on the car, and couldn't help but think "that's almost a decent bike...." I wonder if his mom would accept a bribe to do all of the driving...

$1200.00 might just do it.

Ahhh, you don't want an ex-wife resenting you for any reason when a kid is involved, even something as frivolous as driving.

I'd get it fixed.

Oh, I got it fixed... but now I think I'm going to sell it and pick up a junker that runs. Know anyone who wants to buy a convertible?

I'd buy it but then the wife might think I'm trying to impress the high school girls and throw me out. Then I'd be moving in with you.

Of course, my pet chimpanzee would be moving in as well... and his unicycle.

Where do you live? Are there Zipcars or other car sharing there? If so that may be a good solution for the infrequent times you need to drive.

We have CityWheels, and I have definitely been considering that.

Adrian, I've got a couch...
