Trying to build my second bike up. (my xc bike has basically been retired for the winter, so dh bike and now this)
Transition Street or Park Large frame
All the is really left is build a rear wheel with TA and get a headset pressed in (trying to make a tool to do for future projects)
Hopefully by mid week this week it will be done...

It has cost me nothing. Fork was free, wheel is my freeride wheel and the cranks were free. Frame cost about 100$ (I bought it with a fork)...this bike in total will cost me 200ish cdn
Looks awesome, especially for 200! Should be good for some fun riding!

I liked do...really if I had another wheelset and a set of brakes I would have 3 bikes pretty easily.

No it was a package deal. I always try to do trades etc...I don't quite remember how I got it and with what deal. But it has been leaning against my wall since aprilish.

You should see our bedroom and the hallway. Penguins and light houses. I have my corner with bike posters, helmets and biking movies.

Trading. Some money involved but I buy at prime times. Have money stashed and buy cheap. I needed a DC fork. I bought the slider through a company offering a sweet deal on the slider and frame. In the end, I more or less got the frame free. I got a free set of profile cranks in a deal I made for my gf. I get the bike and fix it, she pays me with parts she won't need. etc etc...
Same way I used to buy servers when I was a kid. Back then an average pc cost 3000$ minumum so I traded, bartered and sold access to my bbs to afford my habit :)
Penguins, huh? You and/or your lady happen to use Linux?
You would see stuffed Penguins and Stuffed little red guy with horns if you looked around here.. :D
I like that bike.. :)

Nope. No nix for me anymore. BEen there done that for a long time. I was more of a bsd fan but really for the corp I am in *nix is limited to firewalls and port scanning.
Thanx, can't wait to get her built.

Mael, why not space out that rear hub and use an individual cog? You might save some significant weight and get a better choice of gearing.
Just curious.

Don't have the parts ;)...Here is my dilema
I don't currently have a TA. which means I can't NOT run a deraileur. My end goal is to build a wheel with an XT hub that will use proper spacing. The gearing will likely be 32 front and 16to18 rear (I may even cheat and put 2 cogs with a larger cog as a spacer so I have trail gearing and djing gearing) The bike is going to be rideable but far from done to what I want.
I also have a hadley hub on there right now, which I am debating where and what I want to do with it. Put it on my dh...djer or back on my xc bike. My djer might be used to practice trials which the hadley hub is ideal for. arg..so many parts and so many decisions.
Hope that made sense haha

Mael,
That frame looks like it has rear fork ends with a derailleur hanger (of course it could just be my eyes playing tricks on me). You could use PVC piping as the spacers (cheap) or old cassette spacers (cheap if you have them) and space out the cassette hub with a cog from your current cassette. When I did this I found my cassette had pins not screws holding it together, so I had to dril off the end of the pins, but I digress. It should be fairly straight forward.
Regardless, nice ride. Enjoy it.

Yeah...that is the plan. Just need to figure out which hub I want.
I have a detachable hanger I can put on there.
 Canadians...
Penguins are from the South Pole...
Polar Bears are from the Norh Pole....
Oh yeah, Canada is on the upper (Northern!) side of the earth.
 Americans... :p
