Hello All! 50 year old hoping to start bicycle commuting to work this spring due to rising gas prices and expanding waistline. Great site...so much to see! Have posted a pic of my bike in the "Show us your vintage mountain bikes!" thread that I hope to convert to a commuter.

Welcome to Bike Forums.
You can also read thru and post in the Commuting forum.
And since you're from TN you can check out the Southeast Regional subforum (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php/234-Southeast). That's where you'll meet local folks. :thumb:

That puts you in very good company. Welcome, and yes, by all means, join in the 50+ crowd. Just be prepared to discuss things like your favorite pie and colonoscopies.
