i just got my bianchi pista yesterday and i have been just been riding around the neighborhood, normal riding nothing to crazy since i this is the first fixed gear i have ever ridden. When i am slowing down or coming to a stop with back pressure on the pedals the crank slips. I dont know if this is from it being new and needing to be cranked down more or if there is something wrong with it.

I imagine what is happening is that the chain is skipping. If it was my bike, I'd check the chain tension and alignment. You might get a smarter answer on the single speed board because, although it's on my list of things to do before I die, I've never ridden a fixed gear.
