Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Huffy Sportsman?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
OK, experts. I'm a noob who's long been interested in owning a vintage British 3-speed. Found a 1962 Huffy Sportsman on CL for $150 -- link below. If I understand correctly, this bike is essentially a rebadged Raleigh Sports. Owner claims it to be in excellent condition. Pics aren't too good, but from what I can see, this could well be the case. If condition is indeed excellent, is this bike worth the asking price? I would ride it; not interested in flipping. Thanks in advance.

The classic 'English bike' as we called them in the late '50s. I don't think I would give $150 for it.
Looks like the only thing wrong with it is the Huffy branding. And that only affects resale. So as a keeper bike, why not go for it? Price is OBO, I would offer $125 assuming it is pristine and ready to ride. Front rack looks interesting!!
Vintage 3 speed market appears to be picking up around here.

neat bike, I'd offer him a flat $100 though if thats your thing... the huffy name makes it hard to sell...
If I was you, I would save that $150 to put towards a nice raleigh sports of that era... it may take you a year to find a real nice one. but they are out there.
he has it on ebay.
but it won't sell in 8 days, I'm rather sure of it.
he's trying to get $180 there...
The Huffy name makes it pretty worthless.Dont offer much.I picked up an almost mint black Huffy for $25
