The maid of a well-to-do family approached her employer, Mrs. Hornesby, for a raise. "I think I'm worth a lot more," she pressed.
"Why do you think so?" asked Mrs. Hornseby.
"I cook better than you," replied the maid.
"Who says?" spluttered Mrs. Hornesby.
"Your husband," retorted the maid. Mrs. Hornesby was aghast. Not losing her composure, she came back quickly. "That's not reason enough, you are well paid for what you do," she stated confidently.
"But I clean and organize better than you, too," insisted the maid.
Riled but not undone, Mrs. Hornesby stood her ground. "I'm not sure that's true."
"But your husband thinks I do," said the maid with a gleam in her eye. Mrs. Hornseby was starting to get irritated, now.
"I set the wages, you need to come up with something more substantial than that."
"Well, I make love much better than you!!" said the maid, tossing her head to one side with a sassy air.
Mrs. Hornseby almost lost control of her bladder. "Is that so, you little tramp! And what makes you think you are better than I am at lovemaking?!?"
"The gardner told me so."
