What's up with that darn annoying ad in the "Singlespeed & Fixed Gear" forum?

As a paying member I thought that we were to be free of all ads but now we are not.

Why?

It's a glitch, and not supposed to show up for premium members (Ti and Red Star). We're working on fixing the code and will fix it asap.

Also what's with the full screen pop up adds you get when you come here from google searching? Those drive me batty.

Ooh, how do you get a red star or are those no longer available?

Red star is obsolete. They are no longer sold, and the existing red star members will run out til the end of their terms. The ads in the archives are for the drive by traffic, and there is no way to reference whether you are a premium or nonpremium member in the archives.

I, too, would characterize that ad in Singlespeed as "darn annoying".

Obsolete???? How do those of us that are Red Star find out when our term ends?

Oh yes, thanks for the response to my earlier question.

Go to your profile, click on the Red star preceding your name in the upper left hand corner, and you will see your expiry date.

Mine is 9/26/2037.. :)

Gee, knowing that I was born in June of 1966, if I had that term I'd be calling it just about "lifetime"!

What if you just got rid of the SS&FG forum? Move it in with C&V because they're basically the same thing, right? :innocent:

FYI: Using FF's AdBlock Plus gets rid of the SS/FG ad but also screws up the thread icons and several other buttons.
