Northeast - Norwalk/New Canaan, CT Club/group rides? Weekend of March 26/27

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I will be coming to the Norwalk/New Canaan area the weekend of March 26th for my kids' synchronized swim meet.
I will probably be able to sneak away from the swim meet for a few hours and will be taking my ROAD bike with me. We are staying at the doubletree in Norwalk but the meet is a few miles away in New Canaan.
Does anyone know of any organized (or better yet, dis-organized) club type rides in the general area?? I am a "fast recreational" rider not racing but like to keep a pretty decent pace. Ideal ride would be 40-50 miles, approx 2.5-3 hours.

Don't everyone chime in at once!
I did some searching and found Sound Cyclists Bicycle Club which seems to be the local bike club for the area, but to get to the "rides" section of the website you have to be a member with a password!! I even tried emailing the prez of the club but so far no luck.
Anyone a member who can clue me in to a ride the weekend in question?

Sorry I can't help you login. I tried the login a member gave me last year but no longer works.
I think the policy of not posting rides is just stupid. I travel alot and I have riden with many clubs while alway on business or vacation. Our club had some very interesting people drop in while on vacation in our area. I just can't see why some clubs keep their rides "secret" it makes no sense to me. Hopefully a Sound Cyclist member will post the rides for that weekend here. Sound Cyclist is the only club I know of in that area.

Thanks and I agree. My club posts all rides and welcomes visitors. I hope I can find something as I don't have a ton of time to venture out on my own and prefer the comeraderie of a club ride if possible.
As an epilogue to this thread, I wanted to post that I finally was able to contact one of the ride leaders from Sound Cyclists and joined them for a chilly but fun ride on Saturday March 26th. Although their website's "ride" section is not open to the public they were very welcoming in allowing me to join the ride.
Gosh the pavement in that area has some really rough patches. All in all, it was a good ride.
