"If it were up to Orduño, he would still be cruising the streets of Long Beach on a two-wheeler.

"But a few years back, Alicia insisted he add another wheel and get a tricycle. After all, he was 100 and beginning to lose his balance....."

Now that's a great story. I should live so long.

100 and riding is amazing. My riding buddy's dad is 92 and still riding 4 times a week. He just purchased an electric bike to help keep up with the younger guys (who are in their 70's). I should be so lucky!

You go pop.. that is sweet action there!! :thumb:

My plan when I reach 100 years old, is to still be riding my wife, my motorcycle, and my bicycle.http://www.cehoward.net/badteeth%5b1%5d.gif

At 105 years old, I will break down and buy a cruiser motorcycle, and maybe a recumbant bike(sp)..;) too. But, not until I am at least 105 years old, or older..:D

"That time, I thought I was clear, so I let it roll," he says. "I think I was going about 30 miles an hour when I went over the curb and some guys came to help me."

Ha, from this week's roadbikerider.com newsletter: (http://www.roadbikerider.com/issue-no-472-031711)

8. SCOTT'S SPIN

..snip..

“You’re open to the weather, you’re going at a slower speed, you observe things,” said one local golf cart salesman. “You’re closer to other golf cart drivers, so you can interact with people as you go. It’s easier to park. It’s like a big toy in some ways.”

Over my not-yet-dead body.

When I settle into Dun Roamin’ Acres, I will be getting a tricycle. All the afore-mentioned advantages of a golf cart, plus the exercise-induced endorphins.

And, no, you won’t catch me aboard one of those 50-pound single-speed 3-wheelers you used to see Florida retirees crawling around on, but rather a sleek British racing trike. I’ll be taking the corner at Buttercup Lane and Serenity Drive leaned over on 2 wheels, with a couple of frantic aides running behind.

I never did like golf anyway.
