I'm looking for a disc brake compatible fork with 1 1/8ths sterer; preferably a straight steel fork. I'm looking for something that has a slimmer profile and fork crown that looks lugged.
All I could find are ones with unicrown fork crowns, which in my opinion are butt ugly.

Preferbly something like the fork of the kona paddy wagon but with the disc brake mounts

OMG That's exactly what I want!! :D
You're good. ;)

Thanks!

Now all I have to do is just wait for their reply to my email regarding if they're willing to sell me just the fork.

The fork that is sold stand alone is without the lug designs...

Post their reply when you get it, I've been looking for a similar fork for a while and I'd probably get the Ruben fork if I could get it in chrome.

Otherwise, I'm probably going for the Nashbar Carbon CX Fork (http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product_10053_10052_175019_-1_201511_10000_202347), which has a slightly less unicrown look to it.

Thanks. Here's the rest of my list, a bunch of unicrown:

Civia Hyland/Bryant Steel
Civia Loring
Dimension Cross
Dimension Rigid Mountain
IRD Straight Blade CX (also Soma branded)
Kinesis Crosslight 3 (alu)
Kona P2
Origin8 CroMo Lite Disc
Salsa La Cruz
Winwood Muddy Carbon (looks identical to the Nashbar carbon fork)

All have A2C of 390-410mm, rake of ~45mm, weight 700-1100g, and price under $140 except for the Winwood.

Yeah it's weird that the fork for sale separately is different from the one they put on the bike build. I hope you can get the lugged crown version.

When'd you call them? They're located in the Midwest, so maybe they clock out at 5pm? Who knows.

But seriously, you don't know bad email communication until you've dealt with old school engineering professors that still do everything on pen and paper. Whew.

Woops. You're right. They are indeed located in Washington.

Note to self: WA =/= WI

That Traitor fork looks like it has lawyer tabs on the drops...thats a good thing because you'll need them.
The drops are angled the wrong way for a disc brake.

UPDATE:

He replied:

Yeah, we do sell forks individually. There are currently 2 forks that show up on our website. The chrome, lugged crown that comes with our completes and then there is the new, black segmented design. The chrome one is no longer available for sale, I have run out of the extras I had and the black one should be available in about a months time.

What’s the time frame you are looking at?

Joe

if it makes you feel better, I think the segmented one looks sweet. Also there are lots of cutsom builders who will do exactly what you want, but you're probably looking at 2-300 dollars.

Bad news... :notamused:
Oh well, that wasn't the only option luckily. :)

Unfortunately, no we will not be making the lugged fork again. As I pointed out we are shifting to the segmented design. The motivating factor behind that decision was that so many people were trying to run larger tires, a lot of times knobbies and the width of the crown didn’t offer much room to do such. So rather than make people struggle we went with the design we were using on much of our other product. Sorry.

If you are interested on the black fork, we will have those available soon, just let me know if you are interested.
