Previously you could either call Softride and provide them with the serial # of the stem or consult a chart available on their website to determine if it was one of the aluminum variety that was recalled in 1994. Since the company's changed hands multiple times it seems this information has been buried among the ruins of what was once a stellar bicycle and parts manufacturer.

Does anyone here on the forum still have access to this information? I've scoured the net to no avail.
