I'll be getiing a Kona Mtn bike tomorrow. Either a Kikapuu deluxe or a Dawg. Don't worry I'll have it figured out by tomorrow.

That is what he said in case someone is wondering why i think he is getting a new bike.

Nepa:
What is your thought process on deciding between those two bikes. I am having the exact same dillema that you are having with the exact same two bikes. What/Where/Frequency/How do you ride? What have you found to be the pros and cons of the two bikes? Thanks, I feel like I hit gold when i read your post.

I'm sorry, I haven't been here in a couple of days.
From what I can tell about the difference between the two other than the paint is:
Yes one is a full fledged XC bike (Kikapuu) and one is what Kona calls it's "Back Country" line (Dawg). The second of the two is a cross between a Free Ride bike and a XC bike.
This whole free ride thing is new to me since I have been out of riding a while now. Oh! I went with the Kikapuu. If you need more info www.konaworld.com.

Kikapu is a 4 year frame warranty. Out of bounds isn't. Wah. Oh well.

kikapu is only 4 years if rubber never leaves the ground and you don't abuse the bike. The differences are in frame strength and geometry.

why would one buy a kikapu over a dawg. In what instances would the dawg be too much bike? Respond to me as if I am a moron. Thanks.

Much lighter.

Come on people read the webpage. I am not gonna walk you thoguh what is different. In simple terms...kikapu is a lightweight xc bike...dawg is heavier and burlier with 1" more travel fron and back WITH the ability to run a DC fork (I believe)
