Hello all, I am new here and I think this is the place to start. I am looking to buy a bike that is in the $700-$900 range. i have Been looking at a few companies and my nearest LBS is a Giant dealer. any suggestions on a Giant bike? I am not set on Giant and I am open to anything)

I won't be doing anything spectacular to begin with, just a couple of small drops and some down-hill stuff. Raiyn told me to start looking into Hardtails, as they will help me to pick better lines and such (Thank you Raiyn :D

The Rainier is an excellent choice. Comes with Specs that I paid extra to put on my trail bike such as the brakes and rims. In short the bike kicks butt. It will allow you to develop as a rider and is a good platform for upgrades as you need them (due to increased skill or part breakage).
