Hello,
i have been looking for a decent mountain bicycle and i came across a craigslist ad.
The poster is asking $430 for a 2010 specialized hardrock 29r equiped with disc brakes.

No, it's not a good deal. The 2010 Spec Rockhopper Disc retailed for $470, my LBS is pricey & they had it for $420. You could get it cheaper on closeout or probably even the 2011 model for roughly the same price at a bike shop.

EDIT: My bad, I wasn't looking at the Rockhopper 29er. Not a bad price if it's in fair condition.

Not a bad price, is it new or used, is there any picture. If you just google around you will find it around that price.

I wouldnt buy it. No warranty coverage, and at that price, save a little longer and get a new one, complete with support from the manufacturer and LBS.

he stopped emailing me. so that looks like a goner. but i am considering buying the same model only new at a LBS. Anything i should know about b4 i do?
