Just wanted to start off by introduce myself. I live in Denver and have been riding a Cannondale R500 I bought 20 years ago. I have upgraded every component on the bike except for the fork. I mostly use it to commute to work, but I got on it and both front shifters were not working. I decided I would purchase a singlespeed and happened onto Bike Forum.
Hope to meet some nice and knowledgable people and get some insight on the right bike to purchase.
Thanks
Rus

Welcome from Denver, I'm just down the road from you. Ummm....do you mean that your down tube shifters are not working properly? That's a pretty easy fix as long as they're not completely shot or something. Although, I would never talk someone out of having another bike!

No, I have Shimano 105 shifters on, but after a while I hear they just stop working because of the lack lubrication.
I have been told it is very reminisant of the 105 shifters. Thought of buying a whole new gruppo, but the Shram
setup I would like is expensive and not sure worth putting on my bike.
