I'm looking to spend my REI dividend. The reviews on this pad have been positive overall, but it seems quite a few have woken up to a partial deflation and/or had durability issues.
The cost is outrageous, but 2.5 inch thickness at only 13 oz. seems irresistible!
For those familiar with the NeoAir, any feedback since your purchase? Is it worth it?

I have the large and used it last year for two months on the GDMBR.
Not only is light at 19 oz for 25"x72", it packs into the volume of a water bottle. No issues of durability, takes a reasonable amount of time to blow up by mouth. Whether it's worth it or not depends on your budget.

I have the size regular (20x72). I have not had any durability issues but have only used it about 6 weeks of touring. That said it seems about as durable as the self inflating thermarests and I got many years of trouble free use with them.
The regular size takes about 15 deep breaths to be just right for me and is inflated in about a minute. Personally I find that a complete non issue.
BTW the regular is really quite large so unless you want/need a really large pad the regular requires fewer breaths to blow up, is lighter is generally fine.
I love mine. I am normally a cheapskate, but feel the NeoAir is worth the price.
It does crinkle a bit and apparently the noise bothers some folks. I find that if I sleep directly on it with with no shirt it is noisy when I roll over (not enough that it bothered me, but enough that I was afraid it would bother any tent mate). If I wear a tee shirt when sleeping directly on the pad noise was no problem and I found that more comfortable any way. When in a sleeping bag on the pad the noise was much less. My daughter camped in the same two person tent with me and said the noise when I rolled over was not a problem for her.

Is that a typo on the size? The web site lists the large as 25"X77".

Ditto all the positive comments. I, too, used my REI div last spring for the Neo regular. I only have 3 weeks of sleeping on it (2 backpacking trips and 1 cyclotour), but I slept better than I EVER had in 20years of using regular Thermarests, plus it packs into such a small space it's hard to believe. I also have the Exped inflatable, which is twice (or more) as heavy, and easily twice as large when packed. I abandoned it after only a year when the Neo came out.

yes, 25x77. My bad. 20 of your deep breaths.

Based on the observations here, I'll go for it.
Thank you all! :thumb:
