Got another email dealing with Highway 39. Guess it's official. Called CalTrans road conditions number and got verification. Ride safe, we now are sharing the road.

San Gabriel Canyon Road (SR-39) Opens to Crystal Lake Road
ASUZA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) opened San Gabriel Canyon Road (SR-39) to allow motorists access to Crystal Lake Road (a County of Los Angles road) on Tuesday, March 22 at 6:30 a.m. There is no access to SR-39 beyond Crystal Lake Road. The highway maybe closed occasionally due to inclement weather.
The project to repair storm damaged sections of SR-39 in the Angeles National Forest began May 2010. Two retaining walls were built to help support the highway. This $400,000 contract was awarded to Chumo Construction, Inc. of Baldwin Park, California.
