Im thinking about buying a 2009 Giant Yukon fx. The guy is asking 500 dollars. My question is it worth the price? its in good shape.. thx in advance

I think it is too much money. In fact, I think I should save you the embarrassment of having payed that much and I will drive over there and buy it instead. Tomorrow.

The above page suggests that the bike listed originally for about $900. I believe the current-year model lists for a hair over $1000. I guess I'd say $500 is in the "zone of reasonableness" if the bike is in good shape. I'd be more comfortable at $400. Used bikes make me nervous in that things can be wrong that aren't immediately obvious to someone who doesn't do a lot of mechanical work.
Also consider that most frame warranties do not transfer beyond the original purchaser. I know that's true with Gary Fisher and Specialized brands. I always factor the lack of warranty into my decision.
