Hello, im looking into buying my first bike since I was really young.

No clue where to start, good brands, prices etc.
Im looking for a good quality bike but don't need "the best" out there.

Any advice on brands to stay away from or good brands?
Budget is around 300 and under (canadian)

Here are a couple I was looking at in the store (canadian tire).
There are a couple local specialized bike shops on town but i'm scared what the prices might be like there.

Casual riding, There are some nice trails around my area (some off road, others paved trails)
