Post of pics of your mowers foosters.

Here is my new Honda. HRR216VXA. Got one of the highest scores by CR and had excellent consumer reviews. I almost stepped down one price point, but I really wanted the blade brake and this one has larger wheels, is nice. Started on the very first pull out of the box. Controls are easy to reach and the handle and drive engagement levers are very easy to adjust.

Can't wait to get to use it, but I mowed with a borrowed mower over the weekend and grass is not high enough to be mowed again just yet.

It replaced an 11 year old warhorse of a John Deere that I cracked the aluminum deck on last weekend.

My lawnmower is on it's last legs and may likely need to be replaced this year as well. Is that a mulcher?

Yep, it mulches or bags. Designed to mulch, has "quadracut" system, with two blades, one to cut and one to mulch or some such. Cannot comment on how well it works yet, as it has not cut a blade of my grass. The next price point up, around $600 switches from mulch to bag at at the flip of a lever.

Toro also has highly ranked machines in teh $400 range with a similar feature, but they just did not seem as solid when I was comparing the two brands. Toro also uses Briggs and Stratton power versus Honda, and I really wanted the Honda engine.

I think mine is an 18", though. But this is the only pic Craftsman had.

Faster and easier to turn in small spaces but it uses more gas than the tractor.

I am looking for a reel mower and already have someone to push it... :)

Have a new MTD with a 3.0 hp Briggs engine that works beautifully and came with the house and also have an ancient Toro with a 3 hp Briggs engine that I was given.

I prefer the battered up Toro as I have overhauled it and it runs just as well and is a much lighter machine that does not stress out my back as much... as it has no safeties it is dad's machine and my youngest has just started taking responsibility for mowing the lawn.

She works for slushies.

My nine year old fired up the Honda, with my help, and took it for a non cutting drive around the yard. His ruling was that my new mower is "Swweet!", so I have that going for me, as well as that "Gunga, Gunga la gunga" from the Dali Lama a few years back.

I think I need to tear down my little Toro and refinish the deck... it needs flames.

I remember my first Lawnmower... it was an ancient Lawn Boy that my dad had rebuilt and even hot rodded a little to give it a little more power.

I got mowing duties when I was 8 and big enough to manage the thing... my daughter is 11 but she is a wee little thing and just made the minimum height requirement.

My oldest hates mowing so opts to do other chores instead and the mowing also tires out my little fireball who needs more physical activity.... she is always up do do things outside and does not mind hard work.

Can I rent some small children? My youngest age 28 won't consider working for slushies anymore! Even with my 2006 Honda HRX

Put a pugsly tire on the back so you can put a snow plow on it for the winter.

jsharr, you should be able to get a chute to use for when you need to cut the grss if it gets to long. I have one for my Honda that was included as an incentive when I bought it new. Used the chute when the grass is long and wet because of the automated sprinkler system that is controlled by the main man upstairs, worked good. Also use it to blow off the sidewalk and to move the leaves in the fall.

jsharr - do me a favor and leave your garage door open tonight.

I may need to replace my mower this year. Front wheel adjustment is all but dead, and the engine isn't far behind. May try to get a C-clamp on the wheel to hold it in position and pray that an oil change (for the first time in who knows how long - it was my dad's previously) keeps the thing running for a while longer.

you can have my crapped out john deere. might be able to rob wheel adjusters and such off it. It runs fine, but the deck is cracked.

I did all 250 sqft of my yard with the trimmer on Sunday, after not mowing for three weeks (busy building a toddler retention device around the house). I will not cut the whole yard with the trimmer again. It looks like crap.

I still don't own a mower, mostly live in the woods where grass won't grow. I do have a weed whacker, that takes care of the little weed/grass that does pop up.

I got my old Toro working fine. Changed the oil, spark plug, cleaned the filter, sharpened the blade. Ran great, except now the drive motor decided to stop working. I'm all for a good workout but man it's not even summer yet. That new Honda mower's looking better and better.

Honda makes a great mower. My father is still using his circa 1970's Honda self-propelled mower.

Mine too. I get to mow the GF's lawn with her Tor though, it's a much better product than her Toro snowblower is. I think that thing is powered by Satan with Lucas electronics.

I have an mtd that is about 10 years old. THe deck formed a rust hole where some gas drips on it when filling it. Honda engine starts on the second pull every time. Probably it's last year. I have my eye on one of these (fiskars momentum): http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/public/CIJw7PCX3dcoLOIM2_UAvk28SUzB5hM7i6z-zGcZddXrhuwSdPjI6mdMxSRQ_bQnaEzn5AHd_e9G41NiJEB2J77ruZ5OWuGVH0vDTaI0lLSFj0V3m9Fp3a-43E2vcayZD03QlIe0gr-coGHMAIzU_T3Ncc3tDZfIAOfwJd5oh2qYLw

These can be expensive, noisy, and somewhat hard to maintain but if taken care of properly they can be very good at these kinds of things. And in the fall they can use the blower ;)
