Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I recently left the general (non-bicycle) discussion forum that I enjoyed for many years.

I enjoy these types of discussions on a wide variety of topics so I'm looking for a replacement forum to join. Now it goes without saying that "BikeForums" is my go to forum for any/all things bicycle. But being retired I have lots of time to fill and I really do enjoy the general discussion forums.

Yes, I have run a search (several in fact) to find a forum but no luck as yet.

Does anyone have forums that they visit ,or know of, that might be a good replacement for the general topics forum I left???

I used to hang out at the Craigslist forums. Lots of subjects.

Googling General Forums shows lots of choices.
How about Physics Forum? http://www.physicsforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=111

I've been with this one since 2001. In a way, it decended from the old NYT Abuzz, though the owner has no connection with NYT. Politics and economics do get kind of spirited (obnoxious), but there are also some world class writers showing up on various topics. It is very general, in any case. If you go there, I go by the name 'roger'. Planning to change it to 'Roger', but haven't gotten around to it.

You might check out the 50+ subforum on here, we generally are a sociable bunch of folks and even let the occasional Fooster post there.

I come here for pretty much everything from bikes to questions on random topics. There are enough sub forums that you can probably find something you are looking for.

I'm coming up empty. I had a few others, but told them off after seeing a predilection for what I consider wrong-headed thinking. Got one bad enough that they banned me...which is what I wanted from them. (HEY -- THEY WERE ALL SAYING THAT CYCLISTS IN THE ROAD THAT GET HIT HAD IT COMING -- AND THEY WERE BIKE-RELATED SITES! WTF?!?!)

I keep a link to MTBR, as their review sections help me out some when parts-shopping; the forum there, though, is a little thin in the IQ at times.

Maybe Two-Spoke.com may serve you better than they did me. Or Bogley (they're the ones I told off, though....).

Maybe I have a bicycle addiction, but after BF, the rest just seem 'minor-league'.
