You can blame it on the float, but it was bound to happen. Welcome to the club. If you do it a second time, do an exaggerated bow for any drivers looking at you.

Dont now what system you are using, but with Keo release tension has nothing to do with float.

Speedplay Zero, but afaik the release angle is 20* no matter where he adjusts the float.

all i can tell you is when i tightened up the float it was harder to disengage out of the pedal.why?i have no idea im only riding 3 weeks now.ill tell you this failing sure creates soreness.it sure was embarrassing too.i mean real humiliating but im sure it will pass.trying not to take Tylenol i hate that stuff.

So now you know that the extra difficulty you had clipping out was purely psychological. Does that make you feel better, or worse? :D I was 14 the first time I fell on clipless pedals, so I didn't get sore. Now I get sore just from sleeping in the wrong position.

your 100% right i got to tell you it was a busy intersection on the sidewalk waiting for a light to change and i cant convey to you the embarrassment. like my wife said get over it and all my freinds the bike shop people all said everyone falls but that is simply the most embarrassing moment of my life without question.the pity party will end by tonight but it was total humiliation.

There is a So Cal resident who claims he never fell, but the forums crucified (banned) him for it.

You mean he, um, fell from grace. :D

But seriously, I hate when I fall after a failed unclip.
