I received an e-mail from PBSF that the first shipment of the turbo light has been sent to distributors and should arrive in the market this week.

Has anyone seen them on the shelf at the LBS yet and have you tried it.

No, I have not seen them on any LBS shelf yet. In a previous thread, a post was made from an LBS owner or a distributor for the light. It indicated they would be available in early April, so as you indicated, they should be soon. I'll be adding one to my bike when I find one.

Are there any distinguishing physical features between the original superflash and the turbo? I just had the lens united replaced by PB on one of my superflashes recently. The new lens flashes at about 2-3 times the speed of my other superflash. The overall output looks about the same.

I spoke to someone at Planet Bike and they told me that the original shipment had been sent to distributors and that the LBS would order from them. They said that they expected another shipment mid April and would have them available on the Planet Bike web site. Attached are the specs from there web site.
