Has anybody heard anything about the schedule for Bike Sundays on the Bronx River Parkway? It is probably one of the most popular events in that county. It also lets you tie together some nice rides on the Bronx River Bike Path, North County Trail, South County Trail, Route 448 near Tarrytown, Route 22 north of White Plains, and a bunch of other routes.

Thank you for the update!

Glad to hear it is still on for this year! It is a nice, lightly mixed terrain, pleasant scenery, a couple of waterfalls along the way, and most of the road surface is in excellent shape.

As far as parking is concerned...you can usually park in the North White Plains parking lot for free on Sundays. You can then take the Bronx River Bike Path south for about a mile, until you get to the northern starting/end point at the Westchester County Center. Note, this is probably one of the nicest stretches along the bike path.

Are there entrances onto the Bronx River bike path everywhere? I'm thinking of taking Metro North to White Plains and jumping on there.

Yes, you can get on it at several points near the station. Either ride north & get on at the County Center, or catch the entrance/exit ramps off Main St.

At the end of the ride you can also head north for a couple of miles on the bike path to the Kensico Dam Plaza. It is Westchester County's version of Central Park.

Besides the Bronx River bike path north to the Kensico Dam Plaza, the bike path south from Scarsdale Road in Yonkers to Lawrence hospital in Bronxville is also very scenic. Simple repairs and adjustments are also available at a bicycle repair station set up alongside the northbound lane near Eastchester. Free "WHUD/Danny's Cycles" water bottles are also usually available up by the Westchester County Center, but they usually go fast.

Free water bottles and chewable vitamins given out again up by the Westchester County Center. Great weather, nice turnout. The first three photos were taken on the Bronx River bike trail between Palmer Avenue in Bronxville and Scarsdale Road in Yonkers.
The photo at the far right shows the repair station on the northbound lane around Eastchester, NY. The fellow there is from Danny's Cycles in Scarsdale, NY. If you run into mechanical trouble, he might be able to save the day for you.
