Southern California - Celebrity Sighting on Latigo today!

As I crested the first summit of Latigo this morning, sitting on the side of the road, in full kit, with bike and resting, was none other than Barry Bonds. I'm so sorry I didn't get a photo.

Wow, I didn't know that he cycles. Has he leaned down since he retired from MLB?

He did look a little leaner, yes, but still not anywhere close to a cyclist's physique.

He should have a lot of endurance with all those left over steroids in him. Wonder if his feet and head are still expanding. No, wait, those were not steroids, it was kick-a-poo-juice. Something for the road.

isn't he on trial for lying in balco? i guess i'd go for a ride too

did you happen to also pass a long procession of Mt bikers riding up Latigo? I had a strange run in with one of them - an older guy with a gray beard. He was riding up the centerline so I said hi, gonna go by on the right (since I didn't want to go over the centerline). He just looked back at me with a cold stare, then dove down at my rear wheel like a track sprinter. I looked back at him and said hi again - no reply. Creepy guy...

He was getting fitted at Cynergy on Friday afternoon too! (black matte Dogma, DA, DA wheels)

Nice. I was on Latigo that same day (first time too), but a couple of hours later.

I used to see Barry when he was skinny - as a high schooler. He played for one of my rival teams. We always used to say he wasn't as good as his dad. In a way, maybe we were right? He was a prima donna waaay back then.
Have never liked the guy.

Back in 2005 or so, I ran in to him at SFO. I thanked him for putting on such a great HR show in the 2002 World Series that his teammates forgot to play too.... Surprisingly, he got a pretty decent laugh out of that. Go Angels!
