Wha do you mean by "the whole BB mess"? If you have a splined BB, you have to have splined cranks.

I just need the spindle, not the bearings or anything. If I can get one, then that would be great and I'll buy some splined cranks. I was just curious.

Fubar, the only thing I could find is a FREE AGENT, EURO BB BRACKET SPINDLE with a spline. But it's for BMX.

All other splined units, that I found, are sealed cartridge type.

Thanks man.

Why aren't there BB's that are installed like a headset?? With no threads, it just gets pressed in? I can only think that removing it would be tough, but I don't think it would be hard to figure out a way. Or, why isn't there a headset that threads into the headtube?

There are, but the only ones I know about are for BMX conversions.

Do you know if those are 88 mm?? BMX websites don't seem to provide specs.

Fubar, you may wish to check the diameter of a spline spindle verses the diameter of the square taper spindle. I think you will find the holes in the cups to be too small.
