Is this the right tool (http://www.rei.com/webservices/rei/DisplayStyle/546091?source=gpla&cm_mmc=cse_froogle-_-datafeed-_-product-_-546091&mr:trackingCode=FDA515C2-B849-E011-AFD7-001517384908&mr:referralID=NA) to remove the bolt on this crank http://www.amazon.com/FSA-Gossamer-10-Speed-175mm-Crankset/dp/B0028MS5T6?
I was a little bummed when my crank pulling tool for my other bike wouldn't fit.

just unscrew the 8 or 10mm hex and it should come off
The point of self extracting bolts is to eliminate need for special crank pulling tool. The pin spanner is for tightening the self extracting cap. You just need to make sure the cap is fully threaded in and snug, it doesnt have to be super tight. Then, as reptileszs said, you just need an allen wrench -- probably 8mm. Seat that into the hex head of the crank bolt itself and unscrew (counterclockwise). The bolt backs into the cap and the act of turning the bolt forces the crank arm off the spindle.

Awesome thanks. So I don't have to remove the "M18 Retaining Nut" first. Thats what I thought I would need the tool I linked from REI for. Now that I see how that works that seems much easier than removing the crank arm from my old trek.
