Hello everybody, I am planning on making a trip from Miami to Key West on a bike and I am concerned with two major issues:

1- What route is better to get from Florida City to Key Largo? US – 1 or Card Sound Road?
2- After I get to Key West… how could I get back to Miami? I know a lot of people have done this already and I would like to hear your advice. Is there public bus transportation?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Hi Chizpa -

Heading down to get wasted away again? :)

Having driven both, I'd reckon that Card Sound Road would be better from a traffic standpoint (also, you get to stop at Alabama Jack's on the way down).

It looks like there's a shuttle ferry from Miami to KW...I'd reckon you could hop a ride on the return trip.

Enjoy Cayo Hueso, watch out for drunk tourists on scooters and remember to catch the sunset at Mallory Square (Hmm..think I've been there, before?)

Well I guess card sound road is the one then. But about the shuttle ferry... I believe hat the Key West/Miami route is not in service any more. Only Marco Island and Fort Myers. Do you know of any other alternative?
