Bicycle Mechanics - Question about Walmart fold-up tires vs former non- fold tires

I notice that Walmart type stores only sell tires in a little box. Advantage for Walmart is these tires take up less shelf space.
My question is: how do these tires compare with the former non folding tires, as far as durability and flat resistance?
I live near a large university and the university sells abandoned Huffy type bicycles for
about $5, twice a year. Usually have a rusted chain and a flat tire. These bikes are easy to repair, or use as parts bikes. The majority of the bikes have almost no wear on the tires.

Folding tires have been around a long time. I prefer them because they are usually easier to install and I can carry a spare just in case.

They have Kevlar beads instead of wire so they are easy to fold up, tread is no different than wire-bead tires.

Yep, the tires are no different. Only the tire's bead, which allows them to be folded.

They also usually have a higher thread count per inch for a smoother ride quality over wire bead tires.

they are easier to transport and take less room in the truck. Walmart is largely responsible for may things not coming in a box at all like deorderant, shampoo, mouthwash and many other items.
