So found this ad on craigslist:

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/bik/2305389769.html

The guy wants 140 for it, think the lowest I could get him is 120. According to him its all original, which as far as I can tell seems to be the case. I've been looking for a project bike that I could clean up and have some fun with, and then flip after a little while. I'm not looking to get rich off this one, but is it valuable enough that if I put 40 or 50 bucks into it I'll get my money back? Thanks in advance.

The Pro Tour is a nice bike. Can't really tell from the picture. If it's in good condition that's a great deal

It really depends on condition.

+1 If the paint and frame are in good condition, jump all over it, pay the full price and be happy. If it has defects, it really depends on what you have in hand to fix it. My buying decisions usually hinge on paint/decal/overall frame condition. Almost anything else can be corrected.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm gonna go take a look at it in a little bit here, assuming it's in good shape I'll probably have some pictures to post in a bit.

If in good shape it's worth quite a bit...though seems to be missing the front rack. 140 is a STEAL and I think bargaining would be VERY tacky.

Unless there is something physically wrong with the bike (unrepairable) $140 is a great price. That bike should clean up really nice.

Well I got it, going to be posting a new thread in the main CV section with some pictures. After seeing the condition it was in I didn't really feel obliged to haggle, it's 100% original and is in very very nice shape.
