hi all, i have a chrome frame, the one for my stretch bmx, i really wanna do the bike flat black.
whats the best way of preppingthe frame, the chrome is in good condit, minimal rust, so i could leave it, but dont wanna !
sanding discs...just etch primer.....any help ???
cheers !
I painted some old handlebars that were chrome. Well, part of them had some rust and chipping. I just roughed it all up with sandpaper and then primer/wet sanding to get it all smooth and stuff. You can still see where the surface is irregular due to the damage of the rust and chipping, but I don't mind since I only wanted it flat black primer. Power sanding might take it down better and leave the surface prepped better. There has to be a few guys on here that have tackled this before.
