Introductions - Hello from Milwaukee WI

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello everyone just getting back in to bicycling mainly because my car is getting a bit expensive to maintain/fill up. So I'm going car less and using mostly bike or bus to get around and hopefully have my car sold in the next week or two. Was at first going to keep the car but the 15 miles to work is not bad at all by bike even in the cold so I decided to just get rid of the car.

Welcome and check out the carfree since you took that plunge. I recently went from a two car to a one car family. It's a bit tougher with kids and these WI winters to be carfree. Enjoy the site as their loads of info and great people everywhere.

I so miss biking in Milwaukee (from living there for two years). Enjoy the Oak Leaf Trail if you can.

Havnt gone on the Oak Leaf trail yet but hopefully once I have some free time I will. But I do have plans on doing the whole Ozaukee Interurban trail from Mequon to Harrington and back sometime this summer. Oh and I just sold my car last night so today was my first truly car free day.

It was literally in the backyard of where I worked so it was super convenient for me. It's no 30 miles crossing a county and spanning an interstate, but it's pretty. That Interurban sounds like something I should make plans for.
