Anyone familiar with the Tange Professional headsets of yore???

Worth a premium over a current production Tange Levin CDS or LV-1500 (alloy)?

Trying to decide on a headset for the Spectrum I picked up...thinking a black Professional or maybe another black Stronglight...???

I have a black Tange Levin already sitting here as well.

I used a Ritchey Pro Logic (in black) on my Grand Course and am very pleased with it.

I really love my vintage Tange Falcon. I assume the Professional is amazing, too.

I just put a Levin CDS on the Opus IV, mostly because it came with a Sante' headset missing parts and the stack height is miniscule (32.5 for the Sante', 33.4 for the Levin CDS...really limited my options). I really like it for the money...finished nicely, grease guards, and just kinda goes fine on any bike.

The problem is to find one, they are super expensive and hard to find. Would love to get one but at that price is better go CK or something.

It's a bummer...because if you look on Tange Seiki's site...The make the LV-1500, Vantage, and Vantage DL all in black alloy...hell, the DL can be had in titanium finish as well (would look nice with my century gruppo I bet!). Here in the US, it's LV-1500 silver alloy only or black steel Levin CDS.

Anyone have a Japan or China connection??
