Going to be near Ocala this summer and was told there's a paved trail from near there to the gulf. Anyone know what I'm looking for or have any suggestions?
Is this it? --> http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gwt/cfg/default.htm

I think LindaN from the "did you ride today" thread has ridden on that trail. I don't think it's paved though.

Sorry just now seeing this. I work at a tax and accounting firm and this last week has been...well...hell.
I have ridden all of the Cross Florida Greenway Trails at the top of this list but only a couple of them are paved.

The Withlachochee Bay Trail is paved but only about 5 miles long. It's one of the most scenic (IMHO) as it runs next to the water and out to the Gulf.
The other paved trail (Baseline to Marshall Swamp) is also only about 5 miles total and not very scenic.
The rest of the Greenway trails are mainly mountain bike trails (some single track and some shellrock) and some of those sections are shared with horses. The Santos Trails have many different levels of expertise. They start near SR 441 and go west over I-75 and out to SR 200.
If you are going to be close to Ocala and looking for paved trails, your best bet is probably the Withlachochee Trail

It's the longest in the state and there are several trailheads just southwest of Ocala or you can travel down to the trailhead in Inverness. Hubby and I normally park at the Central Ridge Park (near Holder and not on the map) and head down to Inverness. A little over 20 miles round trip.
Good luck. Hope you enjoy Ocala. It does get HOT in the summer so you might want to ride early.
