anyone know anything about yokota road bikes? There is a Yokota Legend near me for sale that is about my size. Ive never heard of them in the road bike market. THe owner says they have shimano rx100 compoents that came with the bike and the bike is about 1993 or so as far as age goes.
it is missing the rear wheel but he says it is a 14 speed. I cant find much googing the name.

Yokota is confusing, it could be one of two things. One story says Yokota were made in so-cal, despite having an name that sounds to me like they were made in Japan. I watched a Yokota ranger touring frame on ebay a few months ago, and oddly enough, it had a sticker on it that said "made in Japan" so that was confusing to me. All the data I found on them said that Yokota was a boutique builder from the early 90's in california who made more MTB's than road bikes. But, they could be made in Japan also. Either way, they were probably above average bikes, if made in japan they were OEM built, probably along side Bridgestones or Centurions, TMAR would know more about their connection to Japan. If built in Cali they were probably hand crafted with love... See if it has a serial number on the bottom bracket and let us know what it is.
