They don't call them "Big brother" for nothing - IRS - what a wonderful institution.

The tires may no longer hold air. I bought from this seller once; the tires were original, but rotting. As to price, $4.5K is just the beginning of the misery. Don't forget to plan for the import duty and associated charges. It can add quite a chunk to the price tag.

Well, OK. I'll just enjoy the pictures then.

I was playing the "what if game" and asked... would I try to polish it all up. I honestly don't think I would, I kind of like how it's a touch grimey looking.

Don't know... I'd paint it. Neon pink. And cut off all those damned heavy braze-ons.

The IRS has been "saving" me money for years.... One reason my bike budget is so miniscule.

You are correct, big dollar bikes do not go without notice through customs. Plenty of unique details, note the internally expanding seat post? The chain rest, the fender stay mounts, plenty to gander. Alas, the accountant has yet to give me the size of check needed to written soon, so no flights of fancy will be shipped to my door. Fun to look at, the order card for this one would have been fun to read too.

I dunno, I just listed a couple choice components (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php/725569-On-eBuy-Campagnolo-Record-8-speed-RD-Kooka-Racha-brake-levers) on ebay recently and they sold for some insane prices. I noticed a spike in bidding activity and final auction prices on similar items, so I decided to gamble, and I won. I'm wondering if it doesn't have to do, at least in part, with tax refund dollars.

Small chance this bike will not go as high as it could otherwise, it was listed as A. Singer, not Alex Singer. I did a quick search to see what the end price was and had to come here as it did not turn up using the full name in the search box.
