I tried to import a ride from Map My Ride, downloaded a GPX file but the on line Garmin connect site reports problems with the file.

Does anyone know how to import a ride from Map My Ride to the Garmin 705?

What I do and which has worked well for me is I download it as gpx file to my computer, then copy it into the gpx folder in my 705.

In your case, how does GC know there is a problem with the file? When does it even see it? The gpx file goes on your 705 which uses it to provide navigation. The record of an actual ride you do, which is entirely different and separate from the Saved Ride gpx, is what's uploaded to GC Do you mean you're encountering a problem uploading the history of a ride you've done to GC?

Tried it but the Garmin could not read the file.

I ended up switching to "ridewithgps.com" and it worked fine.
