Transmitters have a max range of 70cm. Measure the distance from the transmitter to the computer and that will tell you whether you can merrit a go at it.

The wireless works very good on my Canto. Signet-sport ???. Sensor on rear wheel and receiver/readout on left handlebar. You have to position the magnet about 5" from the rim, but it has stayed put for 144 mile ride and is very accurate if you get the wheel size correct.
I just switched to a 26x2.19 Bantrager? Comfort on the rear, and a 20x2.19 Kenda Contact on the front. WAY better ride, and nice tread for puncture resistance. Had to change the settings on the cycloputer but it picked up right away.
