Hows it going? I'm wanting to get into mountain biking, but im not sure what kind of bike I should get. I'm looking for a decent beginner bike. I dont want a piece of **** but I dont want anything that is gonna cost an arm and a leg. Im looking to spend between 200-300 dollars. 200 would be better. Im 5'10 and around 175-180. Whats a few good brands? I just need to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks.

Used is the only way you are going to get anything worthwhile for $200-$300. Stay away from WalMart / Target etc. Craigslist and eBay will be your best bet.

I found a 820 TREK mountain bike for $160, I heard TREKS are pretty good, yes? Does the price sound about right?
