I am new to all this so please cut me slack.
This bike is new to me, sorry for the bikes condition as I have yet to wash it.
Can anyone help me begin my search for information by telling me what model year this is?
Thanks in advance

I'd say early-mid 80's, but there are others here who know more of such things. Your first assignment is to break out the soap and water and give that baby a good bath. Under all the grime it looks pretty good. And IME, those old Italian Bianchis are sweet bikes. I'm thinkin' you are really going to enjoy it.

Thanks for the reply.
Just got back inside from washing it, lubing the chain and airing up the tires.
I thought it was a dark blue but it is black.
Also behind the air pump was a decal that said Made in Italy.
I have an organized bike ride on Sunday. It is only 36 miles but since it is supported should be a nice test.
Searching for proper fit led me to believe 54cm is the correct size for me so it should be a comfortable ride.
The journey begins..... and I sooooooo love the journeys.
