Anyone know of any bike covers I can use for RV travel. I need 1 for my Sun Easy Sport LWB and 1 for an Electra Townie (which is slightly longer wheelbase than a regular bike).
My internet searches didn't produce much... Mostly basic bike covers for garage or back yard use. Need some all weather bike covers that are tough enough for freeway travel and cinch down real good.

Any leads welcome!

Good question trestlehead. I've been looking for exactly the same thing!
Especially for in the fall/winter/spring when there is a lot of salt on the roads kicked up by cars.
I wonder if a person went to one of those custom canvas type polaces if they could brew up something.

Any kind of bike cover when used while traveling will act as a sail putting a heavy load on your rack or mounting system...Not a good idea.

You are right, Alex, though I think what trestlehead is thinking is something to cover a bike on a carrier tucked up well behind the RV or camper where it would be out of the wind and its sail quality not a factor. At least, that's what I'm thinking.
Heck, I've even seen a couple of bents close in to the back of an RV with their windscreens still attached, so can't be too windy back there.

I have a Draftmaster rack on order. It will be behind my Toyota Winnebago Warrior. So wind should not be much of a factor.
I want covers that can be cinched down around the bikes completely. I might have to modify a heavy duty tarp for my Easy Sport LWB with some shock cord
threaded thru the grommets...

Any ideas or leads welcome.

Thanks again.

That's what I thought you were looking for Trestlehead. I have a buddy who does custom tarps and upholstery and had him make a slip on cover for my bent seats and my wife's wedgie seat to use on the road. I've thought about some kind of strap on/wrap thing along those lines. A bent on a rack tight to the RV shouldn't produce much sail effect.
A cover like that could also double for covering bikes for swinter stoarage, etc.

BTW, those Draftsmaster racks are really good racks, heavy duty and made well.

bobkat,
Could your buddy make me a custom bike cover/tarp for my Sun Easy Sport if I provide the measurements?

Thanks!
