I'm having a tough time finding fixed-gear specific 3/32'' chainrings. Forgive me for my ignorance, but are they necessary? Or can I get any 130BCD outerring road chainring?

If you have recommendations for 3/32'' chainrings please reply! I have only found a handful and the Salsa looks the best.

Now for chainring bolts. Are the dual-hex chainring bolts from SRAM-Truvativ worth it? They are around $22 on Universal Cycles.

Thanks!

and please let's not make this a 3/32'' vs. 1/8'' debate.

These are meant for SS or FG use http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=23785&category=3160 They have no shifting ramps or pins and no cut teeth, so your chain is less likely to accidentally derail.

Looking at the Salsa, Blackspire Track, and Surly stainless chainrings.

Any experiences and recommendations between these three? The surly works for me best in terms of teeth (comes in 46t and 47t) but the Salsa goes from 45 all the way up to 48 with nothing in between. As I only have 3 cogs, a 18, 17, and 16, I think 46t or 47t would be best. The blackspire offers those sizes but it's $20+ more than the surly.
