I'm reinstalling an Ultegra 6700 crankset w/ external bottom bracket bearings, just want to be clear on what oughtta be greased and what shouldn't.
Seems apparent (based on all the grease that was on it when I pulled it) that the spindle should be greased. What about the bearing faces?
Thanks.

Grease -
1) BB shell threads
2) BB threads
3) Crankset spindle
4) Crankset splines
5) Crankset 'bolt' threads
6) BB bearing face (LIGHT amount)
There's really nothing you shouldn't grease when doing the install. Common source of creaking problems is when grease runs out or people omit grease on installation.
basically, anything that comes into contact with another part.
