Hello.
I'm a 22 year old cyclist from south Louisiana. I'm about to graduate from college and attend physical therapy school. I first got into cycling about 4 years ago when my physical therapist recommended bicycling as a form of rehabilitation after I had an ACL reconstructive surgery. So I got an old mountain bike and really fell in love with cycling. I decided to start doing triathlons since I really missed the thrill of competition that I used to experience from high school sports so I went ahead and bought an old 1992 Trek 1200 off a friend. I did triathlons for the next two years before I really found out that what I liked most about the racing and training was being on the road on the bike. Since then, I've become an avid cyclist. Recently, I've gotten very interested in touring. I plan to do a week long tour around Louisiana this summer, and, if I enjoy that as much as I'm thinking I will, I will proceed with my plans to do a tour across the northern United States in about three years after I get out of PT school.
The only bike I have right now is my old Trek, but I'm hoping to welcome a touring and a nice racing bike to the family.
I've ended up on this forum numerous times in the past looking for answers and opinions to cycling questions, so I finally decided, "Why don't I just join the forum?!"
I look forward to contributing to the bikeforums.net community!
