will mtb wheels fit on a cross bike, will cross tires even fit on mtb rims? I ask this because I'm getting a redline frame and hoping to have the option of using discs with it since it's disc compatible.

They make 700c Cyclocross wheels with disc hubs.
The rear spacing on a Redline is 130mm. MTB hubs are 135mm. They wont work.
Let's say a frame would accept MTB wheels and such and everything was sized correctly and proportionatly. Would MTB wheels and tires be a horrible idea?
It wouldn't be a cross frame than. A cross frame has 700c wheels... you would just be putting drop bars on a mtn bike.
