Is 330 a good climb? Don't recall seeing any posts on it and it looks like a decent climb.

I've ridden it as part of Ride Around the Bear several times. It's a good climb. My only complaint - traffic is fairly high speed, and it's a 1 lane (in each direction) road.

Traffic doesn't usually scare me - but that road makes me a little bit nervous. That being said, I've seen riders who aren't part of the group descending.

Part of the road is out from the recent rains and mudslides - now could be a great time to do it. If it was me, I'd stick to Hwy 38 into Big Bear. More scenic, and a bit more room for bikes.

Hwy 330 is closed to everything except construction vehicles above the middle passing lane...essentially there is no road/ground/earth/solid surface to ride on. Last I heard it was expected to be this way until some time in 2012 but things can change. Hwy 38 is a better choice, great views. You just have to watch for the lunatic flatlanders on the section between Valley of the Falls and South Fork Campground. Oh, and watch out for rocks on the shoulder between VoF and Angeles Oaks (lots of them this time of year).
