I picked up this frame today, and after the previous punk got to it with a can of black spray paint, the only identifying mark was the remnants of a Giant decal on the head tube.

Clues:

-Steel (magnet test: positive)
-Double eyelets front and back (8 total)
-Rack mounts on rear
-Lowrider rack mounts on fork
-Canti bosses
-2 water bottle mounts
-No lugs (TIG welded?)
-Threaded 1" fork/headset


Other considerations:
-Had a hybrid-stlye stem and flat-bar on the frame before I took them off to purchase
-Not sure how to say this in bikespeak, but the seat stays form a u-shape, and are welded to a single piece of tubing coming off of the seat tube.
-Frame smells of Mountain Dew and low-grade smokeables.


Detectives: BEGIN!

(I appreciate any information that may be imparted. I can try to get some photos up if that may help.)

Pictures? Also any idea what the original color was? What sized wheels?

I have a Giant Excursion that originally was a flat bar bike. It came fully loaded with racks, fenders and lights. I added drop bars and brifters.

They appear to be 700c.
There is one spot where I can see what must be the original paint, and it is a sparkly black or very dark blue. Here are some photos that may help the investigation:

Interesting...I am betting that will have been a Euro Spec bike, but not sure which model. It could have been an MTB of some sort or possibly a trekking bike. The mono seat stay is different from all of the Giants I have ever owned, all of mine have been twin stay models. That might help narrow it down.
