Touring - Anyone use Hadley hubs for loaded touring (26" wheels)

Just wondering if anyone has experience with Hadley's. I know they are respected as a durable mt bike hub, not sure how that would compare to a hub that needs to carry constant heavy loads. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

marchese68, A 48 spoke Hadley hub is the only brand that I've had a flange failure with. I'm sure I'm the exception, but I'll not buy another.

I have four sets of wheels with Hadley hubs (OEM on our Santana tandem and triplet). A set of 40 and 48 spoke wheels in both 26" and 700c. We've ridden them for years with no problems (or maintenance, for that matter). Can't get much more "loaded" that a loaded tandem on tour!

I use 32h Hadley hubs on my commuter and 36h Hadley hubs on my MTB. I've never had a problem, and never had to do anything to them in terms of maintenance.

I really like that Hadley hubs are so low key--most people have never even heard of Hadley despite the fact that they make an excellent product. Not to mention they're a USA company, and I'll always try to support that.

We have a Santana tandem with 32H Hadley hubs. I like the look of them and how they spin, and they have given no problems so far in 1200km of riding. Extrapolate the tandem weight to loaded single touring.

I don't follow youtube links, but if it's the rear freehub you're talking about, yes, they seem to be on a par with Campy freehubs.

One really great aspect of Hadley hubs is that they can be taken apart using only two 5mm Allen wrenches. Makes it really easy to pull the freehub off and replace spokes, clean, etc. Also very convenient when I'm packing my bike into an S&S case. I always pull the cassette/freehub off an pack it separately. Only takes a minute or two to do.
