Hello, I have a bike with a cartridge bottom bracket, and am interested in finding out if there is a safe way to remove the bottom bracket without using a splined bottom bracket tool. If someone knows of a method out there that can remove the cbb nondestructively without the tool, I would really appreciate your input, Thanks.

Get the correct tool for the job a Park bbt-22 or equivalent from other manufactures.

There is no way to remove them except the tool, which is cheap. My Pedros brand tool was cheaper than Park and can be used with a 1/2" drive socket wrench. Just buy one.

I'm with relyt on this one - In my earlier wrenching days I tried to remove a BB without the correct tools and it wasn't pretty (to say the least). It's worth the purchase of a tool if you plan on doing this more than once. The other option is to take a quick trip to the LBS and they should be able to do it for close to nothing.
